Hi girls! Here is a little bit more about me other than the fact that I do really like high waisted pants:
I grew up in a family of almost all girls! I have two sisters and a mom who I love dearly (poor dad!). Although being the youngest sister was so much fun, it also prepared me for the field of coaching. Dinnertime conversations were loud, colorful, and sometimes downright uncomfortable. My family never held anything back from each other, which inevitably meant emotions ran all over the place. Middle school was a mess, and high school was hard once my sisters actually left the house. Although getting along was sometimes difficult, it was really nice having my older sisters help me sort out life. Not only did they guide me in my taste for fashion and boys, but they also introduced me to soccer, and were my greatest competitors. Thanks to them, I became a collegiate soccer athlete and had a very successful career. They taught me a lot about what it means to grow up, and how important it is to help others around you. I knew from an early age that I wanted to help others the way my family had helped me. Choosing to get my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology was one of the easiest decisions I ever made, and once I started, I couldn’t stop.
After my Bachelor’s degree, I ran as fast as I could directly into a Master’s in Counseling program at Southern Methodist University. The program was so much fun, and I met a lot of great girls that I am still friends with today. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working as an Intensive Outpatient therapist. I work with populations across the board; couples, groups, families, individuals and adolescents. I also work closely with athletes and the LBGTQ community. I have a strong passion for empowering my clients to develop a strong sense of self through insight and pursuing change on their own will—with a little push from me. Life for a girl is tough, and I like to offer a nonjudgmental and unbiased space for individuals to grow and succeed. Playing soccer allowed me to understand what it means to have a “full plate.” I consider myself very well skilled in acquiring balance—it’s the only way I survived college!
Join today and let’s get started girl!
